Frequently Asked Questions
.For Porch Hosts.
What's Porch Fest? What's a Porch Host?
Moorestown Porch Fest is a free community event held in the historic district of Moorestown. Throughout the day, live musical performances take place on porches, drawing musicians and attendees from near and far.
Porch hosts open their porches to musicians and neighbors for free, live performances. You provide the porch, electricity, and hospitality; we’ll match you with performing artists and promote your participation in Moorestown Porch Fest.
How Do I Become a Host?
Start by submitting the Sign Up Form to Be a Porch Host! Once we receive your submission, we’ll be in touch with next steps if we think you’ll be a good fit for Porch Fest. Last year, we began confirming porch hosts in March.
Can Anyone Be a Porch Host?
While we aim to include as many locations and participants as possible, we’ll be carefully selecting which homes become part of Porch Fest to provide the best experience for attendees and musicians. We’ll consider how many bands sign up, ensure walkability and safety, and showcase the best of Moorestown.
How Do You Select Hosts?
Hosts are selected based on several factors, including:
The number of musicians who sign up and the total locations needed
Proximity to the center of Moorestown
Distance from other host locations
The ability to ensure attendee safety at the location
Sufficient space for attendees to gather without obstructing the street
What If I Don't Have a Porch?
No worries! A driveway, patio, or front yard would be perfect. If you don’t have a porch, you’ll need to provide a canopy or other coverage in case of rain. All performance areas must be outdoors and street-facing.
What If My Home Is Outside The Center of Moorestown?
We’re aiming to keep locations close to Main Street, between Camden and Chester Avenues. We'll be expanding in the direction of Stanwick Road if practical. If you live farther away, please understand that we may not select your home to ensure the event remains as walkable as possible. However, if multiple homes on the same street sign up, we may consider extending the Porch Fest area within reason—so encourage your neighbors to apply!

Here’s our 2024 Map to give you an idea of the ideal locations.
Do I Need to Find Bands to Play on My Porch?
Nope! If confirmed, we’ll match bands with your location. If you know a band that would like to be part of Porch Fest, share our website with them and encourage them to sign up!
Can I Pick The Bands That Play on My Porch?
At this time, we aren’t allowing hosts to select the bands that play on their porch. With nearly 80 performing acts across 24 locations last year—and even more expected this year—allowing hosts to pick and choose would be too difficult.
If there’s a genre of music you prefer, we’ll try to match you with a band that fits, but we can’t make any guarantees. The spirit of Porch Fest is to introduce everyone—hosts included!—to music they might not have discovered otherwise.
If you personally know a band, have them mention your name or address when they sign up. This does not guarantee your home will be a location; we may accept the band but not your porch.
I am In a Band. Can I Play on my own Porch?
We’d love to have you perform! You’re welcome to sign up as both a Porch Host and a Musician, but since we’re hand-picking locations to keep Porch Fest walkable and well-organized, we may not select your home as a performance spot. If that happens, don’t worry—we'll still be able to place you at another awesome porch in town!
Do I Need to Be There During The Day?
We want Porch Fest to be a great experience for everyone! Unfortunately, we (the people planning Porch Fest) can’t be everywhere at once. While you don’t need to be outside all day, we’re counting on hosts to be accessible for bands and attendees if needed. Your support helps keep everything running smoothly!
Can I Decorate For Porch Fest?
Absolutely! We love when hosts get creative with decorations—it adds to the fun and festive atmosphere of Porch Fest. Feel free to decorate your porch, yard, or performance area to match the vibe of the event. Just keep in mind that everything should be safe for attendees and musicians.
We’ll also be placing signs before the event to provide information for attendees.
Will People Need to Use My Bathroom?
No! We’ll have restrooms and portable toilets placed throughout the event for attendees to use. If you’d like to allow musicians to use your bathroom, that’s entirely up to you.
Moorestown Porch Fest is an all-outdoor event!
What If It Rains?
Rain or shine, Moorestown Porch Fest continues! If severe weather is expected, we’ll work with local authorities to make any necessary day-of decisions.
Hosts without a porch will need to provide some form of canopy or overhead coverage for bands. If you have any extra tents or canopies, feel free to set them out for attendees—rain or shine!
Who Should I Invite?
Porch Fest is for everyone! Invite your neighbors, family, friends, coworkers—anyone who would enjoy a day of live music and community fun. The more, the merrier! Porch Fest is all about bringing people together, so whether you’re hosting, performing, or just attending, expect to meet new faces, strike up conversations, and enjoy a lively, welcoming atmosphere.
